* Coloured pens

* Sticky Tac

Once you have everything ready, you're ready to start.

Step 1: Find the Centre of Your Home

Take your floor plan and draw diagonal lines from corner to corner. Where the lines intersect is the approximate centre point of your property.

Mark this point clearly.

Accuracy is important because this central point becomes the reference point for plotting the directions and sectors throughout your home.

Step 2: Take Your Compass Readings

Next, you'll need to establish the orientation of your property.

I recommend taking several readings:

1. From the centre of your home

2. At your front door with the door closed, facing outwards

3. At your front door with the door open, facing outwards

Record both the degrees for each reading.

How to Take an Accurate Compass Reading

To improve accuracy:

* Hold your compass parallel to the floor at approximately waist level

* Avoid placing your compass directly on the floor, where interference can affect readings

* If using a smartphone compass, make sure you align it correctly

* If using a navigation compass, align the red arrow towards 0° North

* Record each reading carefully

If your readings vary slightly, don't panic. Take several readings and compare them.

Step 3: Overlay the 24 Mountains Compass

Once you have established your home's orientation, you can begin plotting the 24 Mountains.

Place your transparency paper over your floor plan and align the centre of your printed compass with the centre point you marked on your home.

Then align the compass according to your front door direction.

Secure the transparency with Sticky Tac so that it doesn't move while you're working.

This allows you to accurately transfer the directional sectors onto your floor plan.

Step 4: Mark the Sectors of Your Home

Using a ruler, trace the directional lines from your compass overlay.

Once you have marked the lines:

* Remove the transparency

* Connect the lines through the centre point of your home

* Use different coloured pens to distinguish between the different sets of lines

You will now have a visual map showing how the directional sectors fall across your property.
